SOLAR ON-GRID / NET METERING

With Solar On-Grid or Net metering, the homeowner is only billed for the “net” energy used each month, that is, the difference between the energy produced by the solar power system and the energy consumed by the house over the monthly billing period.
When your house or business is net-metered, you’ll see the meter run backwards, and that means, depending upon local policies, you may get a credit to hedge against the electricity you use from the grid when it’s not sunny or at nighttime. You are then billed only for your “net” energy use. The excess energy generated gets put back to the grid for your neighbors to use.

SOLAR OFF-GRID

Off-grid solar means meeting all your energy needs from the power of the sun — with no help from the electrical grid. To make this possible, you need to install a solar power system paired with an energy storage system, like a solar battery, at the site of power consumption (your home).
Installing an off-grid solar system was once a fringe concept due to its large space requirements and prohibitive costs. But advances in solar tech over the last decade have made solar equipment more efficient and less expensive, helping to push them into the mainstream. It’s now a fairly common sight to see RVs and country cabins powered entirely by off-grid solar systems

SOLAR HYBRID –GRID IMPORT/ EXPORT

The hybrid solar energy system is a combination of On-Grid and Off-Grid based solar energy systems. In simple terms, one can define it as a grid connected solar power system with a battery backup added.
It comes with the advantage of storing energy in the battery when the solar panel operates at its peak and retrieving the stored energy during peak evening hours when electricity rates are high or in case of any grid failure. Also, one can sell the surplus energy generated to the local grid-connection and get paid for the same.
